Laurent EPSTEIN Piano Back to CD page
Laurent was born in Strasbourg, France.
He started to play
the piano when he was 6.Then he played in many eastern France groups
when he was a teenager as well as when he was a student in
engineering.
He became quickly one of the pianists the most in
demand in his area, and played in clubs in France and Germany, and in
festivals.
In 1992 Laurent moved to Paris.
Very fast he played
with famous national and international musicians.
His
repertoire is that wide that he can play many different styles.
Even if Laurent EPSTEIN’s eclectic taste braught him to the edge of swing music (Gruss Circus Orchestra, french song, studio recording…), he is first of all an improviser passionated by all jazz periods.
As a singer accompanist, he plays with Charles THOMAS when he
tours in France.
He also recorded with Laurence MASSON’s
quintet (« The Island »), and plays regularly with
Valerie HEBEY, Rue Blanche, FLORE, Manuel FRAIMAN…and
accompanies Anne DUCROS’ and Laura LITTARDI’s workshops.
He plays and records with many instrumental groups :

He also played with Luigi TRUSSARDI, Marc FOSSET, Richard RAUX, Nicolas MONTIER…, in the famous jazz-clubs of Paris (Duc des Lombards, Sunset, Petit Journal Montparnasse and Saint Michel, Franc Pinot) and during exceptional events : The World Football Cup in Stade de France, UNESCO…
